7 Coloured Earth ~ the drive up to 7 coloured earth is quite spectacular through a private estate that has a magical jungle like appreance ~ huge palmtree plantations line the way and it makes a great setting for mauritius animal spotting ~ kids love the jungle like athmosphere and the first stop is a spectacular Chamarel Waterfall where you can get out ~ it has a sheer drop of 83 mtrs ( 272ft) in the middle of the lush tropical vegetation - a real jungle adventure ~ 7 Coloured Earth itself is reached after a few more minutes drive ~ once arrived a short walk on raised timber walkways takes you to a viewing platform where you can see the spectacular colours of the earth ~ nobody really knows the mystery of the "Why" are these colours there but theory has it that certain metal oxides are found creating seven different shades of earth ~ definetly worth our Top 10 Family Vacation Spot Mauritius Chamarel Approval		~ Chamarel Village has got a lovely litte St St Anne chapel ( St Anne is the mother of Mary there is a wide open green in front of the chapel giving kids the opportunity to stretch their legs a bit whilst you enjoy your visit to the chapel Mauritius Restaurant ~ Le Chamarel Restaurant has not to be missed fabulous views of the overhanging cliff and the lagoon serving yummy Creole Cuisine ( tel: 483-6421)
Facilities here at Chamarel Coloured Earth include: ~ a viewpoint little snack restaurant at the top which serves a mean portion of fries ( chips, french fries,pommes - tasty in any language - giggle) ~ a small childrens playground right next to the mysterious earth ~ a tortoise pen ~ a souvenir shop ~ Toilets	There are several routes to choose from to get the Chamarel ~ you can approch from the west coast of mauritius island or the east coast ~ ~ there are several other places to visit along the way depending on the age and interest of your kids from a hindu monastery to several waterfall picnic spots where wild monkeys can be seen	The Scenic Route to Chamarel ~ covers some lovely little picnic spots with waterfalls and the chance to spot wild monkeys ~ the monkeys can be quite aggressive for food so best watched from a distance

~ the Adventure Park lies in the same estate as the 7 colored earth, ~ this is an kids outdoor activities parc in the heart of this unique 12 hectar tropical forest ~ this adventure parc is not so suitable for younger kids ( toddler age and babies) but older kids will have a real jungle action adventure here ~ Kids ( and wannabe kids ;-) can roam from trees to trees, and path to path, attached to a lifeline rope (safety equipment). ~ The duration is approx 1 hour so can be well combined with the 7 couloured earth and the chamarel waterfall ~ There are 2 ability tracks to choose from but bookings have to be made ahead of arriving ~ It is like playing Tarzan in the mauritius jungle with fabulous views and little stopping stations along your jungle journey - This is a true wild island family adventure park a must for explorer kids and defin one of our Top 10 Family Vacation Spot Mauritius Chamarel - an adventure		Mauritius Weather
